About Pelvic Hygge

What is hygge?

Hygge (pronounced hue-guh or hoo-gah) is a Danish word meaning:

  1. Paying attention to what makes us feel open hearted and alive
  2. To create well-being, connection, and warmth
  3. A feeling of belonging to the moment and to each other
  4. Coziness of the soul

Hygge allows for building awareness, connecting within, and being present. Discover what calms you. What makes you feel alive. Embark on the path of self-discovery. Connect. Relax. Contract. Breathe. And show yourself some love.

Ashley Waterman, Registered Nurse

Hello there!

My name is Ashley Waterman, I am a Registered Nurse, licensed in Alberta and Saskatchewan, and owner of Pelvic Hygge. I continue to build on my love of nursing to fill in service gaps for women’s health services. I work with women across the lifespan on different health concerns with a focus on pelvic health. I am passionate about empowering women so they can continue to do the things they love.

After the birth of my first born, my interest to learn more about the pelvic floor began. My knowledge at that time consisted of hearing about ‘kegels’ but I knew there was more. I dived into my own journey of learning and discovery. In December 2020, I completed my certification in Pregnancy and Postpartum Corrective Exercise, that lead me to starting a self-nursing practice casually. I have always enjoyed the perinatal period and will continue to help support women throughout pregnancy and through recovery postpartum. For all clients, no matter what your goals or concerns are, I provide holistic care, incorporating health prevention and promotion strategies, and give you tools, body and mind, to use in your day-to-day life.

Lloydminster has been home since my childhood. I was happy to be able to start my nursing career here. I have been nursing for 10 years and have work experience in surgery, endoscopy, and public health. I am passionate about my profession and honoured to be able to continue my career and education for a Nurse Practitioner, to expand services for all of you.

My core values focus on a community where you feel safe, comfortable and heard, building connection with yourself and the practitioner, maintaining integrity, accountability and respect, and being adaptable to the changing needs.

While I am not working, I am a busy mom to 3 boys. I love travelling, trying new things and diving into anything that sparks creativity.
